NASHUA RUGBY SKILLS PROJECT
BRINGING WORLD-CLASS RUGBY SKILLS TO SCHOOLS
As proud partner to the Currie Cup, Nashua is committed to making a positive contribution to South African rugby.

To take this commitment even further, we have launched the Nashua Rugby Skills Project in partnership with ShadowBall Academy, to help improve pass-and-receive skills at school-level rugby across South Africa.

With this project, Nashua is excited to deliver a world-class rugby skills coaching experience right to your school.

INTRODUCING SHADOWBALL TRAINING

What is the ShadowBall?
The ShadowBall is a unique rugby training ball designed to rebound off any wall and come spiralling right back to the passer.

This amazing innovation in pass-and-receive technique training is endorsed by The Centre for Human Performance Sciences at Stellenbosch University, The Golden Lions, the Deaf Bok Team as well as several of the Top 100 Schools.

The ShadowBall is also a regular training tool of Golden Lions wing - Selom Gavor, ex-Springbok 7’s captain and SuperSport commentator - Gcobani Bobo, Irish Player of the Year – CJ Stander and Wallabies scrum-half – Nick Phipps.

What are the benefits for coaches and players?
Players can train on their own – all they need is the ShadowBall and a wall surface to bounce it off
Improves passing technique
Improves passing accuracy
Allows multiple pass-and-receive repetitions in a very short time
Improves accuracy of hookers line-out throw
Keeps passing skills fresh during off-season
HOW TO USE THE PASS BOOSTER PROGRAMME

The ShadowBall Pass Booster Programme is designed to take 10 minutes for a team of 22 players. In the 10 minutes your team should be able to complete up to 300 passes and catches per player. Obviously if you have more players, or less balls, the programme will take longer to complete.

You have been supplied a step-by-step instruction manual to complete the drills each day of the programme. The full programme should be completed by the entire team a minimum of 3 times per week. For best results, train for 10 minutes per day, 5 days a week.

Results have shown that when used correctly, the ShadowBall Pass Booster programme can increase a players passing and catching abilities by 266% in 4 weeks. If you don’t believe that such an increase can be achieved in such a short space of time, hear from Selom Gavor from the Golden Lions about how ShadowBall and the Pass Booster Programme have helped him up his game.

You should watch these drills on the NRSP VR Training app regularly in order to execute the programme correctly.

Enjoy the ShadowBall Pass Booster Programme brought to you by Nashua Rugby Skills Project!

Saving you time. Saving you money. Putting you first.
